Although we test our software and install procedure on many systems, it is always possible that you run into (install) issues.

No license extension received

If you create a trial license then you get a default license of three days. Within this period you receive a license code to extend your license to 30 days. If you do not receive this license then verify your spam box, or contact PHsPeed support. If you have used a temporary email, you will not receive a license extension.

Partial install after internet interruption.

This issue is very rare, but if it occurs, PHsPeed should restart at the right download position. But if it can't for some reason, then delete the install folder, and try to reinstall. As you already have created a (trial) user, use the 'I'm registered' option, logon and then reinstall. Do NOT create a new account.

Apache is not running

If you start PHsPeed for the first time, then you have to assign a PHP version to use. This will setup the default PHP instance under your Apache webserver. PHsPeed will start Apache for you when you start the IDE and closes it after closing PHsPeed. There are a few things that could cause Apache not to start:

- The used port is already in use. In this case, change the port of Apache to a free port.

- The used port is blocked by your firewall. Allow PHsPeed to use the port.

- The application has insufficient rights. Delete PHsPeed by deleting the install folder, download the installer en re-install, but use administrator mode.

After updating modules, it is possible that Apache or MySQL does not run. This problem usually gets solved if you open the PHP/MySQL configurator and save.

If you cannot get Apache to run well, then look at the error log of Apache to see what the issue is. Contact PHsPeed support if you cannot solve the issue.

MySQL is not running

See Apache section. By default MySQL uses port 3307 to avoid issues with other local MySQL (if any).

Installing PHsPeed, or running PHspeed give Folder/File write errors.

PHsPeed needs to be able to write files. It also connects to our main servers for updates, license control etc. Because it handles system functions like starting and stopping services, some virus scanners observe this as suspicious behavior. Although most anti-virus providers know about PHsPeed, it is still possible that issues occur and we advise you to whitelist the folders of PHsPeed. PHsPeed is digitally signed for your security.

In some instances, especially at companies that use policies for their workstations, it is possible that PHsPeed is installed in an 'archive' folder, or in a read-only folder. Before using PHsPeed you must us the right mouse click to open up the folder security properties, and allow r/w for the PHsPeed folder for the correct user.

Error message that folders cannot be created, or files cannot be stored

In certain company policies, PHsPeed will have insufficient rights to install the software. Usually you can overcome this by setting the folder rights by checking 'Full control' and 'Modify'
